PLANETARY STOCK TRADING NOTEBOOK 1
July 7, 2013

This article focuses on the importance of the Midheaven in the horoscope of first trade. This is the most important point. It represents one's career or reputation in a personal horoscope. If a person were about to make an announcement, then close transiting aspects to this point would color our perception of the announcement. The same is true for first-trade horoscopes. Generally speaking, Jupiter parallel or conjunct the MC leads to a leap in price when earnings are announced. Saturn typically does the reverse.
Below we see the first-trade horoscope for Tesla (TSLA).
The company reported earnings in late April. There was an eclipse on May 9th that was conjunct TSLA's MC. The effect that an eclipse will have is variable. It is dependent upon the natal position of the MC. For example, CA (formerly Computer Associates) has an afflicted MC. Eclipses to the MC generally are bearish. The first CEO was forced to resign; the second went to prison; and the third was under investigation the last time that I checked. In TSLA's case, the MC=Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto on a 90-degree dial, a favorable combination.
TSLA was due to report on May 8th, prior to the eclipse. The earnings greatly exceeded expectations, and the stock leapt as can be seen below.
Let us apply this methodology to July of 2013. There are two important events in the sky. There is a direct Saturn at 5 Scorpio on the 7th, and there is a Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune grand trine. Thus, one can begin by searching for hard aspects from the Saturn station or soft aspects from Jupiter to first-trade horoscopes. Google is scheduled to report earnings on July 18th. Note the 6 Cancer MC. This degree had been afflicted by the Uranus-Pluto square.
From 2011 through the first half of 2012, Pluto opposed the MC while Uranus squared it. Thus, each earnings report was met with selling and lower prices as one can see in the weekly price chart below. On July 18th, Jupiter will be at 5 Cancer on the GOOG MC. There is one detail in working with this grand trine. The 120-degree angle between Saturn and Neptune does put its midpoint at 5 Cancer, a degree short of the natal MC. I prefer not to have this deflationary combination affecting the chart under study.
In the absence of afflicting and offsetting aspects, GOOG is likely to rally when earnings are released.
