Nine Parts
The
Nine Parts is a persian medieval time lord technique derived from the Vedic tradition. It was
described by Abu Mashar in the "
On the Revolutions of the Years of Nativities".
In order to calculate the
Nine parts go to the
Forecast/Time Lords/Nine Parts...
menu and select the following parameters:
- Type. Type of the time conversion:
- Method:
- Abu Ma'ashar - this is the way Abu Ma'ashar describes the
method. It requires reversing sub-lords of the first 9th part if the
starting point is not the first sub-lord.
- Don't reverse sub-lords. This method uses the regular linear profection of the sub-lord rulers.
- Year. This is the year length (based on various Hellenistic, Medieval and modern sources):
- Tropical Year (default)
- Bija-corrected
- Sidereal year
- Egyptian/Hellenistic (360 days)
- Abu Ma'ashar - year duration is based on Abu Ma'ashar's mundane works
- Masha'allah - year duration used by Masha'allah
The
Nine Parts table contains the list of dates when
each period and sub-period starts and the ruling planet of that period and sub-period.
