Designer... menu option.
Creating New Page
- In the Page Designer window, select the File/New
menu option (top right corner).
- Enter the Page name in the Name field.
This field is required.
- Select the category you want this Page to be saved under.
By default, the General category will be set.
- Set the background color. White color (#FFFFFF) will be selected by
default. Note: selecting the
background color will not be immediately reflected in the Page
Designer window but your page will be drawn with the
background color selected.
- Start adding objects.
- Once you are done editing, click the Save button
(or select the File/Save menu option).
Editing Existing Pages
To edit any existing pre-defined or user-defined page, expand the File
menu and select the Open... option. In the Pages
table select the Page you wish to edit and click the Open
button. The Page will be opened in the Page Designer
window.
If you're editing a pre-defined page (such as Traditional, GPH,
13-signs Zodiac, All Stats, or Vedic), the original pre-defined Page
will not be affected. Instead, an editable copy of this pre-defined Page
will be created for you.
Deleting Existing Pages
In order to delete any existing user-defined page, expand the File
menu and select the Open... option. In the Pages
table select the Page you wish to delete and click on the
delete icon next to the page name (red cross icon).
Note: pre-defined pages (such as Traditional,
GPH, 13-signs Zodiac, Midpoints, etc) cannot be deleted.
Working with Objects
- To add an object to the Page, expand the section in the Object
pane and click on the object
you want to add. The object will appear in the top left corner of the
Designer window.
- You can re-size objects and drag them anywhere within the Page
Designer window. You can control dragging and resize
movement by enabling or disabling the corresponding Snap-to-Grid
options. When the Snap-to-Grid is
enabled, objects will be auto-aligned to the grid. You can define the
step to be 10, 20, or 50 pixels.
- In order to set object's attributes, click on the object and specify
the following:
- Opacity - the value of 20 will make an object almost completely
transparent, the value of 100 will have the opposite effect. This
option is available for all types of objects.
- Edge - whether to show or hide edges. This option is available for
all tables and stats graphs but not for images or text objects.
- Header - whether to show or hide header and header title. This
option is available for all tables and stats graphs but not for
images or text objects.
- Shadow - show or hide shadows. This option is available for all
tables and stats graphs but not for images or text objects.
- Icon - show or hide icons in the top left corner of the object's
header. This option is available for all tables and stats graphs but
not for images or text objects.
- To remove an object from the Page, click on its close (X)
icon.
- To remove all objects from the Page, select the File/Clear
menu option.
Background Images
You can create your own art pages by setting background color and
configuring background images.
- First you need to upload images you want to use as a background for
your Pages and/or for your charts using the Utilities/Upload
Images... menu. Once uploaded, those images can be used in
the Page Designer and also as background for your
charts.
- In the Page Designer, create a new Page or open an
existing one for editing.
- Click on the Image button. This will open a new
window with all the available images shown.
- Double-click on the Image you want to use.
- Save the Page. From that point onwards you will be able to see the
name of the image associated with this Page by moving mouse over the Image
button.
You can use the same process to change background images.
If you want to remove the image and ensure there are no images used as
the Page background, follow these steps:
- Select an existing Page for editing.
- Click on the Image button.
- In the Background window, click on the Clear
Background button. The currently selected Page will no
longer use any image as its background.
After the Page has been created and saved you can start
using it by navigating to the View/Pages... menu
in the main AstroApp screen.
