Hellenistic Astrology Software

Hellenistic astrology following the classical texts of Valens, Ptolemy, Firmicus and Hephaistio, from time lords and circumambulations to chart rulers and lots.

AstroApp supports the Hellenistic tradition as the classical texts describe it. You get the time lord systems of Valens, Ptolemy, Firmicus and Hephaistio, the circumambulations, the classical methods of finding the ruler of a chart, the lots, and the tables you need when working from the texts: sect, the ascensional times, the heliacal events and the dodekatemoria. Every time lord system can be shown as a tree of periods and sub-periods, as a timeline and as a printable table. You can combine as many systems as you like on one time map.

Time Lords

AstroApp calculates 10 Hellenistic time lord systems:

  • Ptolemy's Planetary Ages
  • Decennials according to Valens and to Hephaistio, with two methods for the days of the third level
  • Zodiacal Releasing (from the Part of Fortune, the Part of Spirit, or from any other lot or planet)
  • Quarters of the Moon, with cycle numbers
  • the 129-Year System
  • the Balbillus Method
  • Lunar Monomoiria
  • Annual Divisions according to Valens, Firmicus and Junctinus
  • Profections, Traditional and according to Manilius
  • the Nine Years of the Moon

You can further customize the time lord calculation rules by choosing from six year lengths taken from the Hellenistic and medieval sources. The chronocrator trees show the sub-periods down to eight levels. You can export the tables to Excel and PDF, and you can add the periods of any time lord system to the chart's events database. On the Time Map you can combine several systems, each with its own settings and calculation rules.

Circumambulations

You can calculate directions through the bounds (also known as Circumambulations or Distributions through the Bounds) according to the classical Hellenistic method and the medieval Arabic Qisma method. Choose from five releasers and any supported terms (bounds) system. The results show both the Distributor and its Partner, with the aspects to the directed point. The Solar Return Distributions follow Ben Dykes's presentation of the technique.

Chart Rulers and Protocols

You can determine the chart ruler using the standard classical techniques, including the predominator and its triplicity lords, the lord of the geniture, the oikodespotes, and the two methods of Firmicus. The available protocols cover Valens's eminence indicators and the slavery protocol. The planetary relationships table shows 10 key Hellenistic and medieval conditions, such as generosity, pushing nature, pushing power, and advancement and retreat, with a detailed breakdown of sect.

Lots and Tables

The Hermetic Lots table lists the classical lots, and the Arabic Parts table lists all the available lots, which you can sort and filter. With the Arabic Parts Editor you can create new lots and Arabic parts.
