Deep Sky Astrology: Fixed Stars, Galaxies, Nebulae
Add objects from the whole sky to your charts, more than seven million fixed stars, galaxies, nebulae and other deep sky objects, and work with them as chart factors.
With the Deep Sky module you can add objects beyond the solar system to any chart. The catalog includes more than 7,250,000 objects: fixed stars, star clusters, galaxies, nebulae, black holes, quasars, and extrasolar planets and planet candidates. For most of them you also get a photograph of the object or of its region of the sky, and we add newly discovered objects as they are published. You can add a star or a galaxy to the chart with a click, and the star tables show its aspects, parans and heliacal events.
The Catalog
The Deep Sky module lists the objects with their positions and pictures. You can search an area of the sky for the objects it contains, find the conjunctions of the chart's planets with deep sky objects, and filter the fixed stars by text or by a formula of any complexity. Objects we have added over the years include the Great Attractor and the Trappist planetary system.
Stars in the Chart
You can add any star or object to the chart and the tables, on its own or in a custom object set, and use it as a chart factor with these tools:
- the star aspects table, with the interpretations of the brightest stars
- parans to fixed stars and to planets, and parans on the AstroCartography map
- the heliacal events of the fixed stars, and the heliacal events and phenomena of the planets
- primary directions to fixed stars
- star positions in the sidereal and the galactic zodiac
- the Fixed Star Election module, following the Picatrix and the Renaissance magic courses
The Points Explorer and the Reports
Double-click a deep sky object to open it in the Points Explorer, which shows the object's position in every coordinate system and zodiac, its dignities, its lunar mansion, and its aspects and midpoints. The interpretation reports include Bob Makransky's report on the natal aspects of the 20 brightest fixed stars, and you can read his article here: The Fixed Stars. You can also capture the Deep Sky module into AstroScribe, so a star's data and picture go straight into a consultation report.
